Marvelous began as an exciting collaboration between a top chef, ace winemaker and international entrepreuneur, to create a wine that delivers more than expected and pairs perfectly with a wide range of meals. These days, Marvelous is crafted from a specific vineyard canvas by Adam Mason to create a range of vibrant, expressive wines that are simply Marvelous.
On the eye, Marvelous Rosé has a subtle burnished copper appearance. Aromas of rock-melon and nectarine are balanced by a delicate saline note, keeping the nose fresh and vibrant. The palate also, is a balancing act between primary flavours of nectarines and fresh raspberries and more complex leesy characters which provide the wine with savoury texture and delicious length.
Based on Chenin Blanc, South Africa's heritage grape variety, and augmented by classy Chardonnay and floral Viognier, this white blend really does pack a flavour punch. Aromas are a heady mix of floral decadence and austere mineral notes. There’s a subtle hint of creamy oak there too, but just a touch.
A Bordeaux-styled Cabernet Sauvignon based blend with lashings of Merlot and Petit Verdot a little Malbec and Cabernet Franc. It’s not a coy wine by any means. There’s structure, fruit and freshness to be enjoyed here!
Due to the compatibility with each other and the additional complexity they bring to this fruit-filled Syrah blend, we included some Grenache, Mourvèdre and a dollop of Viognier. The result? Ample aromas of violets and pepper initially, with lots of dark plummy fruit too, deftly underpinned by subtle oak spice finishing with sumptuous texture, and lots of berry intensity.
