Rooibos and buchu whiffs on the nose with peppery spice, plum and blueberry in the mouth. There's savoury black olive succulence with refined, dry tannins and plush texture too. A powerful yet restrained wine with a long aftertaste.

Rupert 2005 $62 A dark, exotic style, with richly textured mocha, espresso, fig paste and macerated currant fruit backed by a very long, fleshy, toasty finish. Still needs to absorb some of its toast, so cellar for maximum effect. Best from 2009 through 2012. 220 cases made.-].M. This wine is dense with smooth tannins and a long finish. Intense cassis & lily bouquet, saturated fruit core, dense tannins & 15.5% alc.
