Beyerskloof Field Blend 2007

A classic, full-bodied Bordeaux blend with a deep red colour. The complex berry and oak flavours are very well integrated. Full-bodied and well balanced.

(Cabernet Sauvignon / Merlot) Bordeaux blend.
The only Beyerskloof wine without “the Pinotage”. A classic full-bodied Bordeaux blend. Lots of colour and robust flavour. Named for 5ha vyd planted ±80/20 to cab & merlot, harvested en-bloc. 04 as keenly focused as silken 03 (****1/2) with streamlined tannins, reasonable 13.5% alc. Violet top notes on cassis/spice bouquet. 14 mths new oak. For now or yrs hence. (Platter 2009)

Big complex oak and berry flavours are very well integrated in this Bordeaux blend which more than deserves its 5 star Platter wine guide rating. This wine shows layers of integrated fruit with a velvety mouthfeel and rich depth of flavour.
