Meerlust Chardonnay 2009
Citrus fruit, green apple and cream flavours, nutty aromas with a delicious bouquet of marzipan, halva and oatmeal. Ripe tropical fruit and creaminess balanced by a pure minerality typical of the variety.

The nose exhibits toasted nuts, marzipan and honey notes. On the palate, the wine is full bodied and generous, retaining a vivacious freshness and crisp acidity. The mid palate is packed with creamy mouthfeel and expressive minerality and the wine has a long, lingering aftertaste. 07 from 2 mature vyds. Creamy, melon, peach & tropical notes; weighty fruit makes for big but not brash profile (just 13% alc); smoky, earthy elements. Part natural ferm; part malo; yr 60% new Fr oak. (Platter 2009) A classic, barrel fermented chardonnay showing true characters of lemon and lime, with hints of creaminess developing into a buttery and hazelnut bouquet.
