Very deep, youthful colour, intense almost purple hue. Very classic Rubicon nose with violets, ripe plum, cedarwood and intense spiceyness. Still young and still intense, promising further maturation potential. The palate is full bodied, structured but packed with fresh dark fruit and rounded, linear tannins.(2005 AVAILABLE IN 1.5ltr)

Intense, rich cassis and plum fruit, pronounced muskiness with hints of star anise, creamy oak and lifted graphite and cedar. Complex and complete with a long finish and great persistence. Very youthful with cerise rim. Exuberant cassis fruit on the nose, black cherry, blackcurrant and nettle-bush followed by cigar box, red earth and hints of minerality. The wine is full bodied with a concentrated fruit core wrapped by lush, sleek tannins and an earthy minerality. Refreshingly dry on the finish, the wine has a prolonged pleasant aftertaste. Elegant but not insubstantial, 04 was Chris Williams' debut with this long-time Cape icon. 64% cabernet sauvignon; merlot, cab franc. Silk rather than brocade; blackcurrant, raspberry notes deliver harmony, length & balance. 2 years oak, 80% new. Deserves cellaring.
