Mulderbosch Chardonnay 2009
Lime zest, mineral salts, ripe cut pear and flint notes dance a merry jig on the nose whilst an array of white nectarine, oatmeal and even a hint of walnut tempt the palate. A rich textured mid palate and complex spicy oak nuances are supported with an invigorating/fresh acidity that yields to a persistent finish and farewell notes of pecan pie and squashed grapefruit that linger on and indulge your senses.

Pineapples, guavas, litchi, lemon and lime aromas are abundant. A clean, lively wine with nuances of nutmeg and cloves. Stylistically off-dry and lightly oaked. Pear, citrus and apple on the nose combine with oak vanillas, roasted coffee and almonds to give a complex structure. A fresh, crisp wine with a full, creamy texture and well-rounded wood integration on the palate. The gap between this & 'BF' range-mate narrows; now 94% oak-fermented (pvsly only 60) & 46% new wood, but drier &, well, not as dear. 06 elegant, fruit not obscured. (Platter 2009) Another 4 star delight from Mike Dobrovic. This partially barrel fermented chardonnay combines elegance and depth of flavour to produce a wine with a full, creamy texture and layered lime flavours.
