Mulderbosch Shiraz 2006
Deep black cherry colour. The nose is met with blackberry and plum fruit overlaid with star anise, clove, vanilla and crème fraiche. Supple entry on the palate with intriguing black olive, blackcurrant, fresh liquorice stick, coffee bean and wafer biscuit. The mid palate is broad and the texture velvety with complex notes of milk chocolate, ceylon tea, wood spice and stewed plum which give way to powdery tannins and persistent length.

Violets, iodine and a freshly ground pepper bouquet followed by dark cherries, cloves, nutmeg and Allier wood spices combine to give an exceptionally balanced wine. Deep ruby and strawberry colour with a cerise rim. Freshly milled pepper bouquet with hints of nutmeg and cloves on a berry base. Sleek and flavourful; concentrated fruit with solid quality wood tannins. Well balanced with a long lingering aftertaste. Will gain in complexity with two to eight years of bottle maturation. Pepper spice launches soft & accessible berry fruits, petit verdot (15%) austerity tightens tail. 69% new oak 18 mths. Some Stanford grapes. (Platter 2009) Deep ruby and strawberry colour. Well balanced with a sleek and flavourful concentration of fruit and solid quality wood tannins.
