A blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Matured in 100% new French oak. This wine has a dark, mulberry, blackish colour with inky-hues. Opulent, rich, blackberry, plum and spicy tobacco flavours with beautifully integrated cedarwood. Big and concentrated with classic fruit flavours which leave a velvety sensation on the palate. The ripe tannin structure ensures a full mid-palate and long finish. This wine has excellent bottle-ageing potential. STOCKS ARE LIMITED. Blockbuster cab-merlot blend - 54/46 in v extracted 04. Rich, complex, jammy aromas rounded off with showy oak (80% new). Heady 15% alc points to power rather than finesse. Impressive 03 (****1/2 stars) followed lesser-vtge 02 (***1/2 stars). (Platter 2009) Black currant, wild cherry, white pepper and cinnamon aromas with nuances of dark chocolate and earthy, tobacco complexities. Elegant, classic and harmonious flavours with concentrated firm, ripe tannins followed by full mid-palate with a lingering, smooth, velvety finish.
