Elegant and appealing with aromas of red berries, sweet cherries, white pepper and cedarwood with undertones of aniseed and almond. Good complexity with dark chocolate and flinty undertones on the palate. Enjoy as an aperitif or recommended with slow cooked lamb or lightly seared fillet of beef with truffle mashed potatoes. This partnership with the Rupert`s of South Africa and the Rothschild`s of France is proving to be a very successful one. They have produced this classic Bordeaux blend which is well rounded with a soft tannin structure and supported by earthy undertones. Ripe, rich fruit impressions interspersed with nuances of cassis, blueberry and forest floor notes which follow through on the palate. Well rounded with abundant youthful tannins. Vivid 55/45 cab-merlot blnd. 06 shows classic cigarbox, cassis, smoky notes. Balanced & fresh, with friendly 13.5% alc & restrained oaking (just 15% new) making for gd, over-delivering food wine. Like Baron & Baroness, WO W Cape. (Platter 2009) This cabernet/merlot blend is the result of a joint venture between the Rupert & Rothschild families. There are rich nuances of spice and red cherries on the palate ending with a lingering aftertaste. Distinct cherry and mulberry flavours and subtle hints of coriander, spice and pecan nuts. Elegant and well integrated with youthful tannins and a lingering finish.
