It reflects the fresh, crisp and flinty characteristics of grass, green peppers, asparagus and nettles. A long firm and creamy aftertaste makes this a truly distinctive Sauvignon Blanc.

A Cape standout, from 21 yr old vyd, always more mineral, more racy than std btlng. 08‘s regal poise & balance, richness but bracing acidity, lead to bone-dry blackcurrant farewell. Track record for ageing 5+ yrs & gaining complexity. (Platter 2009)

Steenberg Sauvignon Blanc Reserve 2009 (Constantia) – though the nose is quite classic – fresh and grassy with pear – it’s more tropical/exotic in the mouth with sweet citrus, ripe mandarin and an attractive fennel quality. Good weight and length.
