Finely crafted pinot from adept practitioner. 06 reveals vintage elegance with gentle, oak-polished sour cherry scents, poised freshness. Beguiling now, more so in few yrs. Sympathetically oaked, yr 30% new Fr. (Platter 2009) The wine shows classic Pinot Noir perfumes and flavours. Bright red fruit, strawberry and raspberries on the nose with a hint of forest floor that carry through to the palate. The wine shows lingering earthy tones and mushroom aromas. Balanced by well integrated tannins and a wonderful structure with a lingering aftertaste of dried apricot and plums. The wine can be enjoyed with meat dishes like lamb or venison or fish like tuna or Norwegian salmon. The best temperature to serve the wine is between 12 and 14 °C. |
