Longavi

Longavi wines is a collaboration between two friends from different continents, Chilean producer Julio Bouchon and South African winemaker David Nieuwoudt who teamed up in 2012 to produce wines in Chile's Leyda Valley. Longaví means ‘snakes head' derived from a stratovolcano called Nevado de Longavi and the vine wreath on the label denotes the Ourobos, an ancient African symbol that represents nature’s eternal cycle of renewal.

Longavi Sauvignon Blanc
The Lonagvi range is a collaboration of two wine legends, from two different continents, Julio Bouchon from Chile and David Nieuwoudt from South Africa. The Sauvignon Blanc vineyards are situated in the Leyda Valley in Chile, a mere 8 km from the cool Pacific Ocean. The wine is further maturated on fine lees for four months with a monthly battônage of tank before the final blending and bottling.

Longavi Cabernet Sauvignon
Part of the international collaboration between Chilean wine producer Julio Bouchon and Cederberg Private Cellar’s David Nieuwoudt. The vine wreath depicted on the label denotes the Ourobos, an African symbol representing nature’s eternal cycle of renewal. The sacred condor soaring high above the Andes, represents the freedom of the two wine producers and their search for vinous perfection. The Cabernet Sauvignon is crafted from a premium selected vineyard parcel in the Valley of Maule, Chile. The wine undergoes a total of 12 months of barrel maturation in 300L French oak barrels.

Longavi Glup Chenin Blanc
The Longaví range is a collaboration between Chilean wine producer, Julio Bouchon and Cederberg Private Cellar’s, David Nieuwoudt. Chenin Blanc grapes come from premium selected vineyards in the Valley of Marchigue, in Chile. A true expression of terroir with a breathtaking intensity and richness. A portion of the grapes are naturally skin fermented in Amphora clay pots to capture the natural purity of the wine.

Longavi Glup Cinsault
A collaboration of two winemakers, Julio Bouchon from Chile and David Nieuwoudt from South Africa. Longaví means ‘snake’s head’ and is also the name of a volcanic mountain at the foot of the Andes Mountains. The Cinsault vineyards are situated in the Itata Valley in Chile. The wine is made with minimal intervention and matured in foudre (large wooden 2500L vats) for six months.
