De Wetshof Limestone Hill Chardonnay
The Robertson Valley has an exceptionally high limestone content, due to the many termite colonies that have calcified over the millennia. One of De Wershof's vineyards is planted on a hill where the limestone is so abundant it shimmers in low light and is where the grapes of the Limestone Hill orginate. Optimum varietal expression of the Chardonnay grape are captured in this unwooded wine.

Site-specific vineyards form an intergral part of De Wetshof's winemaking ethos. The Bon Vallon vineyards have limestone-rich and broken mountain rock soils, that allows the Chardonnay to express it's natural complexities and true varietal expression. Bon Vallon is a fresh and vibrant unwooded wine.

De Wetshof Calcrete Chardonnay
Calcrete Chardonnay is exclusive to the limestone-rich wine appellation between Bonnievale and Robertson. Here the distinctive terroir ranges from calcareous outcrops to arid, broken-shale, both features resulting from ancient petrified maritime deposits. Calcrete defines the wines from the unique Chardonnay region, their crystalline character, nuances of wet stones, saline palate and oyster shell minimality being highlighted by linear unwooded profile.
